Our little business simply started out by building a birdhouse for my wife Jeni, and thanks to social media, seven years later we’re still creating unique handcrafted pieces. The backbone of our creations come from reclaimed lumber which include (but not limited to) barn board and pallet wood. We have also built items from repurposing old furniture such as dining tables, chairs, dressers and even vintage upright pianos! Local “Tobacco Sticks” and rescued snow fence have also worked their way into our items. We have a lot of our old favourites in our product line, but are always ready to try out some brand new ideas.
This is the name of our showroom where you can come and peruse our latest items. Occasionally we will open it up for a “Pop-Up Sale”, but if you want to stop on by to have a look, please contact us to arrange a time.
With our upcoming shows, it’s time to get building these cool “crèche” projects again this year. With a front base large enough to hold your manger scene, it is also in the likeness of an old stable, created by the hardwood beam frame, and the lightly sanded tobacco stick boards! With measurements of 18 inches wide and 16 inches tall they’re perfectly size for any table top, fireplace mantle, entrance table, or it can simply be dressed up with greenery and candles as well. These will be on display at our upcoming Christmas shows and at Brantford Finders Keepers in the near future.

This new product is completely credited to me going for a drive to pick up some local barn board a couple weeks ago. As I was driving through all the beautiful farmland north of Listowel I noticed a very cool and distinct marking on a few of the barns. These markings known (in some circles) as “barn stars” got my attention and with that I came home and put my thoughts into some wood. These 16 inch eight point stars will represent my snowflakes for the year. We’ll have a swivel hook mounted on the top for you to hang from any location. If you actually turn them on their side, they look like a cross as well, so the choice will be yours as to how you want to display it. I am positive that my Grandma Hoover would be very pleased in knowing that I’m using a pattern that was one of her favourite quilt options that she used to piece together so many family heirlooms that some of us still cherish today. They will come in the natural wood colour or in our antique white as usual. #mennonitestyle #mennonitesnowflakes @brantfordfinderskeepers

We have jumped into the retail market in Brantford! The name of the store is Brantford Finders Keepers and we are honoured to have been allowed to be on their floor. With their extensive customer base and a beautifully laid out store full of local artisans, we will do our best to bring to the table a variety of our reclaimed woodworking home decor products. @brantfordfinderskeepers #traycommander #supportlocal
All set up and ready to go for Saturday!
I’ve made these before, but they are great sellers so they will be going to our show on Saturday at the Rockton fairgrounds. They are an 8 in.² trivet tray with wrought iron handles! These can actually handle 450° so they are not just for show but they don’t look bad on your counter either. @events_by_demille #traycommander
